Magazine Advert Construction

I decided to follow this convention as adverts generally show the main artwork of the digipak, but I did not want the poster just to be a picture of the digipak, so I followed the same idea that the Foo Fighters had used.

I started my magazine advert by taking the main image from the front cover of my digipak and making it big enough to fill a4. This meant that only the side where the blue light pole is was in the picture. I did this to keep continuity between the products.

I then copied the name of the artist and the name of the EP over to magazine advert. I placed the name of the artist at the top of the poster and the EP name in the middle. This makes it easy for people to see who and what it is, it also follows the Foo Fighters example. In the top left of the advert I have a small picture of the peacock to keep in with the digipak. Along the bottom of the advert I have "NEW EP OUT 9.02.10" in the same font as the artist name. Below this I imported the logos of three popular music outlets. These are AMAZON, SPOTIFY, and iTunes. I chose these two (Amazon and iTunes) online music outlets because people in my target audience are more likely to download music than go out and buy the CD. Spotify is a program which you download from the internet and is used for streaming, I chose to put Spotify on my advert as it is a new way of listening to music and it shows that my artist is up to date.

I did not really use many skills on this task as I did not need to do much editing. All I really needed to do was import images from other projects and logos from the internet.
